Following a presentation to the client (Arun District Council) on the benefits of high-quality tree planting specification and how this results in cost-savings in the long term, the design received approval.

The design consisted of seven 3.0m x 1.5m tree pits. StrataCells were installed two layers deep with root protection provided by the GreenBlue Urban Modular RootDirector. The surface finish was completed using the heavy duty 1500mm x 1500mm Castle Recessed Double Tray Tree Grilles.

We worked closely with Hobart Paving throughout tender stages and visited the site to oversee the tree pit installation as well as the actual tree planting – the Ulmus New Horizon trees (Elm resistant to Dutch Elm Disease) were supplied by Hillier Nurseries.

Members of the council staff involved in the scheme turned up throughout the day to observe the trees being planted.
